What We Do

Ookami Kids is a mobile paediatric therapy service based in Ballarat, Victoria and providing service to surrounding areas. We provide coordinated Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology support within your child’s natural environments. This includes at home, school, kindergarten, childcare, the local park or even coming with you to the supermarket if this is where the support is needed.

Our team of allied health professionals are experienced at working with babies and children with a range of complex needs. We can support your child to:

  • move and play

  • connect and communicate

  • build relationships

  • engage and be understood at kindergarten or school

  • understand and advocate for their own needs

  • participate in everyday meaningful activities such as dressing, toileting, handwriting, eating and more

  • access equipment and AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication strategies)

How We Work

At Ookami Kids we use a multi-disciplinary Key Worker approach, the recommended best practice in the field of Early Childhood Early Intervention.

This means you will have a key person supporting your family as a whole- developing an understanding of the unique needs of your child and family, advocating for your child, providing assessment and therapy, and working with you to coordinate therapy and support from other allied health team members and incorporate strategies into your life in a truly meaningful way.

We use the CanChild ‘F-Words’ framework to guide us in making sure we are always working holistically and on meaningful goals.

The F-words are Function, Family, Fitness, Fun, Friends, and Future. These words help us develop goals and communicate about what is most important. They remind us and our Ookami families that there is more to life than ‘Function’ (how we do things) and that we need to also prioritise joy and connection.

At Ookami Kids we aim to provide a neurodiversity affirming, strengths-based and family-centred approach to your child’s therapy.

Together we can do so much.
